Brazilian feijoada

Feijoada: a national dish

The feijoada is the national dish of Brazil, and one of the most famous in South America. Feijoadas have several different ingredients. One of the main ingredients this dish has is pork, and when cooked in the original and traditional Brazilian way this dish will contain every part of the pig, including ears and tales for example. However, feijoadas can be made discarding some parts of the pig and using only the ones the people who will eat it would like to see on their dish.

what is it?

A feijoada might have many different ingredients, and some of them might vary from one cook to other. Usually, the basic ingredients a feijoada would have are:
pork, smoked pork, black beans, chorizo, bacon, onion, garlic, oil, salt, and pepper. Besides this, usually a feijoada is served accompanied by rice and oranges.
